Track Trivia:

Since this track has opened its been an icon for others to follow. Some of things they've done here was first and foremost, put in a lighting system for night racing. They were the first modern SUPERSPEEDWAY to have lights. Those lights were made by MUSCO in Oskaloosa, Iowa and simulate daylight on the track so there are no shadows, glare or light poles. How do they do it? Mirrors.

Movies such as "Days of Thunder", "Speedway" and "Stoker Ace" were filmed here. Look for more seating in the near future.

A well balanced car is the most important thing here. You don't want it loose or tight. As the race goes on the track will get tighter and you need to adapt to the track whenever you can. Downforce is important but so if fuel mileage. You can go about 65 laps on a fuel window but your tires will last long than gas.

Where is the trouble? Since there are two grooves in Turn 3 and 4 that's where you will see the passing and that's where you will see the trouble. Pass to early and you hit the wall because of too much speed. Pass too late and you hit the wall because you got pinched off coming out of the turn.
